United increase Sevilla prices

Manchester United will subsidise the ticket price increases for their trip to Sevilla by increasing prices for fans of the Andalucian club at Old Trafford.

Fans of the English giants were left incredulous at the decision to increase the price of basic match tickets for their game in Seville by a further £35 from group stage matches.

“We have decided to increase the ticket prices for Sevilla fans for the game at Old Trafford, and use this increase to subsidise our fans, as we want this to act as a deterrent to future opponents who look to increase ticket prices for our travelling fans,” read a United email sent to fans.

“We will subsidise our travelling support by refunding the difference between the price charged (£89) and the price that was paid by Liverpool supporters in the group stage of this year’s competition (£54). The £35 difference will be refunded prior to the game.”

The first leg of the Champions League last 16 match will be played in Seville on 21 February.
