Unzue: Guidetti leaving Celta Vigo

Celta Vigo Coach Juan Carlos Unzue has admitted striker John Guidetti will be allowed to leave the club in the January transfer window.

It is believed the Swedish striker is unhappy at Estadio Balaidos and a deal has been struck with a fellow top flight Spanish club, believed to be Alaves.

“The reality is John wants to leave the club,” Unzue told a press conference on Wednesday.

“My knowledge is that an agreement (with another club) is not far away and so right now we will select only players who are totally committed to us.

“I was happy with the squad I had but the reality is you cannot have unhappy players in the dressing room, even if there are two sides to every story but we must work for a solution.

“I have told the club to find a replacement for John, maybe not with the same characteristics or quality but someone who will be competitive for the first team.

“Any other news on Maxi Gomez? As far as I’m concerned he is totally committed and staying at the club, he is available.”
