Ronaldo to fund paediatric hospitals

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo will help to construct a paediatric hospital in Chile’s capital Santiago with plans for more to follow.

The building of the children’s hospital is a joint venture between the 32-year-old – an ambassador for Save the Children, Unicef and World Vision – and Italian businessman Alessandro Proto with more set to follow across South America.

“Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo will build a paediatric hospital in Santiago Chile, in 2020,” read a statement from New York-based law firm Brafman Associates, as cited by EFE.

“Cristiano – up to now the only player in the history to have won the The Best FIFA award for the best player in the world – and Alessandro are very happy with this initiative.”
