Preview: Celta-Villarreal

Villarreal are at barebones for their trip to Celta Vigo in La Liga on Sunday as both sides look to put defeats behind them.

Celta boss Juan Carlos Unzue on the visitors’ high-pressing game and John Guidetti’s future: “They’re not going to give us the ball.

“Villarreal like to have control of the game if you let them. I’ve seen how they like to win the ball back as soon as possible in several matches.

“We can’t just settle for how we’ve played in our last few matches. Guidetti? I don’t get the feeling that he’s given up here, although sometimes you’re anxious to play more when there’s a World Cup coming up.”

Villarreal boss Javi Calleja on the possibility of changing system: “We’re adapting to what we’ve got. We have several players missing and only have Carlos Bacca in attack, so it’s possible that we’ll change and look for alternatives.

“It’s normal that when the calendar is at its hardest, you lose players and have problems, but it’s also true that we’ve lost several.

“This affects your approach and way of playing, given those players won’t return at the top of their game.

“That’s how it affects the line-up I pick and changes I make, but we’ll adapt to it and we’re working to find solutions.”
