Ronaldo: I want seven Ballon d’Or titles

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to win another two more Ballon d’Or titles before he hangs up his boots, he said after winning the title on Thursday.

The Real Madrid star successfully defended his title to equal Lionel Messi’s record of five Ballon d’Or awards, and four in the past five seasons.

“I want to win seven Ballon d’Or titles,” Ronaldo told reporters after scooping the gong.

“I want seven children (he currently has four) and seven Ballon d’Ors.”

The Portuguese international has also won each of FIFA's 'The Best' awards since their inauguration in 2016 following a split with the Ballon d'Or.

Ronaldo’s teammates Luka Modric and Sergio Ramos were also in the top ten, with Messi second for a second successive year and Neymar – formerly of Barcelona – completing the top three.
