Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto is confident on renewing his contract at the club ahead of its expiration in June 2019.
A La Masia youth graduate, the 25-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Camp Nou due to his reported €40m release clause in his contract.
“My contract renewal with the club is on the right path,” Roberto told a news conference ahead of Barca's Champions League game against Sporting CP.
“Ever since I was a little boy I’ve supported Barcelona and whilst there will always be speculation regarding player’s future, I am confident on an agreement being reached.
“I don’t have a preference on my position; I will always try to give my best on the pitch no matter where I am playing.
“I have been most used to playing as a midfielder but my priority is to help the team, whether that is in the middle of the pitch or as a full-back.”
