Gremio midfielder Arthur insists ‘he will never leave the club through the back door’ despite strong interest from Barcelona.
The 21-year-old caused controversy last week as he was pictured in a Barca top alongside the Catalan club’s South American representative Andre Cury.
“I will never leave this club through the back door, the club is my home,” Arthur is quoted as saying by Marca.
“I respect the club and the people who are here because they have helped me every day since I joined here as a 14-year-old.
“I will not be able to play in the Club World Cup due to injury but my heart and positive energy will be with supporting the team.”
The Brazilian club are adamant they will not sell the central midfielder for below his €50m release clause.
