Vitolo joins up with Atleti early

Vitolo has reportedly joined up with Atletico Madrid early to speed up his recovery from an injury sustained with Las Palmas.

The Spain international pulled up with a hamstring injury during Wednesday’s Copa Del Rey clash with Deportivo La Coruna, with him reduced to tears on the bench.

The 28-year-old is now reported by Marca to have played his final game for Los Amarillos – his hometown club – whom he joined on loan this summer, and was due to expire in January.

However, Atletico Madrid, who are under a player registration ban until January and who signed the winger from Sevilla in July in a protracted transfer, have now taken the player to help his rehabilitation.

Vitolo featured in nine La Liga matches for the Gran Canarian club under two different managers alongside two Copa Del Rey outings.
