Spain international winger Vitolo has played his ‘last match for Las Palmas’ according to the club’s president after picking up an injury.
The 28-year-old will join parent club Atletico Madrid in January when their player registration ban is lifted, having signed from the club this summer from Sevilla in a protracted transfer.
He picked up an injury in Wednesday’s Copa Del Rey loss to Deportivo La Coruna – with the Gran Canarian side advancing on goal difference – and was reduced to tears on the bench.
“Sadly, I fear Vitolo has played his last match for Las Palmas,” Miguel Angel Ramirez told Onda Cero.
“It looks like he is broken and won’t play for us again, it is a great shame.”
