Pizzi appointed at Saudi Arabia

Former Chile and Valencia Coach Juan Antonio Pizzi has been appointed as the new manager of the Saudi Arabian national team.

Pizzi replaces former Argentina Coach Edgardo Bauza who was dismissed last week after being in place for only five friendly matches.

49-year-old Pizzi spent seven years in Spain’s top flight as a striker in spells with Tenerife, Valencia and Barcelona – and was linked to the vacant managerial post at Camp Nou earlier this year.

The manager failed to lead Chile to the World Cup but will now take the Asian nation to next summer’s finals.
