Portuguese giants Sporting CP are considering approaching Espanyol for defender Mario Hermoso, according to reports.
The 22-year-old central defender only joined the Catalan club this summer from Real Madrid and has a contract until 2020 with a €40m release clause in place.
However, Marca cites a report in Portuguese paper A Bola which states the Lisbon-based club are monitoring the former Spanish youth international.
Hermoso has started nine La Liga outings for Los Periquitos this campaign.
