Mendilibar demands improvement

Eibar Coach Jose Luis Mendilibar has called on his side to be more decisive at both ends of the pitch ahead of their clash with Betis.

The Basque club have won only two of their 11 league outings to date and their squad has been stretched by a number of injuries this campaign.

“We have to be strong in defence and attack better,” Mendilibar told reporters, as quoted by Marca.

“Our performances have not been bad but we have made mistakes at both ends which have cost us this season so far.

“Betis are not an easy opponent but we have a plan for taking them on, we know they will pass and attack a lot, they won’t be afraid to play.

“It’s important for us right now to get results because we all believe in what we are doing but only need a lift.

“The winter market? We will look to sign players but only if they improve on what we already have here. It’s not an easy window to work in but we always look to improve ourselves.”
