Huesca have moved three points clear at the top of La Liga 123 following Saturday’s 3-0 victory at home to Tenerife.
A double from Gonzalo Melero and a strike from Juan Hernandez were enough for the Aragon-based club.
Lugo moved into second after a 2-1 victory at Lorca after third-placed Osasuna fell to a surprise home defeat to Alcorcon.
Fourth-placed Numancia lost at home to Gimnastic while Granada were held at Leonesa, with Rayo Vallecano’s victory over Barcelona B lifting them into the top six.
Sporting Gijon fell out of the playoff places after slumping to a 3-0 home defeat to Cadiz – who have now won three in a row – with the white handkerchiefs appearing for under-fire boss Paco Herrera.
Only three points separate sides ranked second from ninth, while Cordoba, Sevilla Atletico, Lorca and Almeria sit in the relegation zone.
