Suarez: Always knew I’d score

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez assures “I wasn’t anxious” about his lack of goals but admits Gerard Pique will be “a very big miss” for Valencia.

Suarez ended a run of 479 minutes without a League goal on Saturday as he netted twice in Barca’s 3-0 win at Leganes, although the result was tarnished by Pique’s yellow-card suspension.

“I wasn’t anxious about scoring, I was just trying to feel good,” he said after the game.

“The goals helped us to win the game, which was the most important thing.

“Every game is difficult and we knew what it was going to be like. The important thing was to win.

“We try to play well, but it’s not always possible and we have to get used to this.

“Pique’s ban for Valencia? He’ll be a very big miss as he’s been playing at a high level, but there will be another player that will also try to do well.

“What we have to do is keep going like this.”
