Preview: Sevilla-Celta

Eduardo Berizzo welcomes his former club to Sevilla tonight as Celta Vigo’s preparations have been marred by talk of Maxi Gomez already leaving.

Sevilla boss Eduardo Berizzo on facing his old team: “I’m facing my former teammates, club and players, so it’ll be an encounter of emotions.

“I have great memories of my time there and I really appreciate the people I worked with.

“Important week? The one before the international break was as well: Leganes, Spartak…

“Depending on the time of the year, it’s just as important to start strongly as it is to finish strongly.

“At this time of the year, you give the same value to everything that you play for. There’s no time to relax and you always have to keep your guard very high.

“Our opponents are playing very well and we have to stick with our line of work.”

Celta boss Juan Carlos Unzue on a huge offer from China for Maxi: “It’s true, but I see him looking well and ready to play.

“Injuries? You’re not going to hear me complain about missing players. I don’t want to waste any energy on things I can’t change.

“We are what we are, but I have no doubt that we’ll go to Sanchez Pizjuan to compete against the full potential of Sevilla, which is very big.”
