Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo is confident star forward Antoine Griezmann will not leave the club despite reports in the Spanish press.
The 26-year-old has recently been linked with a move to Barcelona following a summer in which intense speculation stated he would be joining Manchester United.
“People do not understand Griezmann or the sense of humour he has,” Cerezo told Europa Press.
“He wants to stay here, that is what he is saying and nowhere has he said he wants to leave us, in fact he has said the opposite.
“He has a contract with Atletico.”
The French international has a €100m release clause at the Wanda Metropolitano.
