Thomas Vermaelen has admitted he was wrong to stay at Barcelona this summer in a big hint he will leave the club in January.
The Belgian central defender has been linked with a move away from the Camp Nou having not been involved in La Liga or the Champions League under Ernesto Valverde.
“It wasn’t the right decision to say,” Vermaelen told Het Laatste Nieuws, as quoted by Diario Sport.
“Over the summer I thought it was right to stay and fight at Barcelona but in hindsight that was not correct.
“I don’t want to say anything (about specific clubs) because last time I talked about this I was misquoted!”
Last season, the former Arsenal defender was on loan at Italian side Roma but suffered with injuries.
