Alba: I feel phenomenal!

Jordi Alba says he is feeling ‘phenomenal’ after helping Spain thrash Costa Rica 5-0 but warns Barcelona that “Real Madrid will always be Real Madrid.”

Alba is considered to be on one of his best runs for Barca and Spain this season, and the left-back attributed his improved form to being given more freedom by his Coaches.

“Everyone did very well,” he said after Saturday’s friendly at La Rosaleda.

“We have a lot of talent and hopefully we can win the World Cup. I feel phenomenal and I hope it lasts.

“The full-backs can push up more now. I’m feeling very good and we’re all very comfortable here.

“Pique? We have to respect everyone’s opinions. We don’t like it when a player is being whistled, but we have to respect everyone.

“Spain’s style? We were very good at the back and in attack too. We had a lot of the ball and they had almost no chances, although they had a few more in the second.

“Distance with Real Madrid? Valencia are doing very well at the moment. Real Madrid will always be Madrid and they’ll fight for the League.

“The more points we move clear of our eternal rivals, the better, but we have to wait until the League is over.”
