“I’m still the same player” – Moreno

Alberto Moreno has confessed he has not changed his approach following an upturn in form this season earned him a call-up to Spain’s squad.

The Liverpool full-back has already made 15 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season, only three short of his total number of outings last season.

“I’m still the same player and doing the same things,” Moreno explained to reporters on Thursday, as reported by Marca.

“I knew I had to change the dynamic, to find more consistency and that could only come about through working harder.

“I enjoyed a strong pre-season and won back the confidence of the manager and now I believe I’m playing at a very high level.

“The truth is I did not expect to be called up to the national team, although of course this is always a possibility.

“The selections under Julen have shown that names are irrelevant, you will get called up if you are in form and if you are not then you won’t.”

Moreno is hoping to add to his three international caps in November’s friendlies.
