Ruben Castro returns to Betis

Real Betis all-time record goalscoring Ruben Castro has returned to the club following a loan spell in the Chinese Super League.

The 36-year-old forward, who has netted 147 times for Los Verdiblancos, has returned from a four-month stint at Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng where he scored seven times in 11 appearances.

“What I want is to stay at Betis,” Castro is quoted as saying by Diario de Sevilla.

“This year they are playing really well and the team is enjoying their football and the truth is I want to be part of that and play as much football as possible.

“My time in China? It was a beautiful experience and a wonderful time in my career which I did not always expect.”

Castro won’t be available for selection for Betis until January due to La Liga registration rules.
