Leganes return for Orellana

Leganes will attempt to sign Valencia midfielder Fabian Orellana in the January transfer window, according to reports in Spain.

The Chilean international reportedly has not future at the Mestalla and indeed has only made a La Liga matchday squad once this season, but was an unused substitute.

The 31-year-old only joined Los Che from Celta Vigo earlier this season but new Coach Marcelino Garcia Toral has no plans to retain him in the squad and he has only featured in the Copa Del Rey this campaign.

Diario AS reports Leganes, who were close to signing the winger on the penultimate day of the summer transfer window, have returned with strong interest.

Most comfortable on the left side of attack, the Madrid-based club’s current options in that position: Nordin Amrabat and Jose Naranjo – are both on loan while Alexander Szymanowski’s deal expires at the end of the season.

Eibar have also reportedly been keen on a January deal for Orellana.
