Julen Lopetegui may be without goalkeeper Pepe Reina for Spain’s friendlies with Costa Rica and Russia this week due to injury.
The Napoli goalkeeper missed his side’s scoreless draw with Chievo Verona this weekend with a back injury but was called up to the Spanish national squad.
Marca now report the 35-year-old may not have recovered in time and will undergo late fitness tests which may result in his early withdrawal from the squad.
Spain are likely to call upon Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea and Kepa Arrizabalaga of Athletic Bilbao for the two friendly matches, with Reina unlikely this month to add to his 36 caps.
