Real Sociedad took one step closer to the Europa League knockout stages with a 3-0 victory over Macedonian side Vardar.
Having won the previous match 6-0 in Skopje a fortnight ago, goals from Juanmi, Alberto De La Bella and Jon Bautista gave La Real a comfortable victory in Anoeta.
Striker Juanmi netted his first goal since late September with a guided header just after the half-hour, while De La Bella doubled the lead with twenty minutes remaining.
Substitute Bautista made sure of the points in the 81st minute while the news got better for Eusebio Sacristan’s side as group leaders Zenit Saint Petersburg could only draw with Rosenborg.
Next up for the Basque club is a trip to Norway in three weeks time, with a draw securing their passage to the knockout stages.
