Setien wants Betis improvement

Real Betis Coach Quique Setien is satisfied with recent results but not performances ahead of his side’s trip to Espanyol on Monday night.

Los Verdiblancos have lost only one of their last seven matches in all competitions, winning five, but the tactician believes there is room for improvement.

“Our aim is naturally to continue with our recent run of results,” Setien told reporters ahead of the tie.

“The recent wins (over Alaves and Cadiz) were satisfactory in terms of the outcomes but some other things less so.

“We need to work harder at improving our position when we don’t have the ball, we need to become more consistent and be less vulnerable to conceding.

“This is one of the elements that has been costing us and we must put this right if we are to continue with good results.

“Espanyol have a very strong identity, they are well organised defensively and enjoy hitting teams with quick, incisive attacks. We must know to guard against this.”
