Juve withdraw Gomes interest?

Juventus have ended their interest in Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes and will pursue other targets, according to reports in Spain.

The Italian champions had pursued the Portuguese international over the summer months with their sports director Fabio Paratici said to be pushing such a deal.

However, the emergence of midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur alongside the form of Miralem Pjanic and Sami Khedira has removed the 24-year-old from Juve’s radar, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

The Bianconeri instead will reportedly switch their attention to Schalke midfielder and Germany international Leon Goretzka, who is also being tracked by officials at the Camp Nou.

Gomes now appears more likely to end up in England should Barca sell him, with Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham reportedly keen to land the former Benfica and Valencia midfielder.
