La Liga Wk10: Malaga finally win

Malaga finally won their first game of the season in Sunday’s Week 10 action as Getafe shocked Real Sociedad.

Getafe moved into the top half of La Liga after they came back from behind to beat Real Sociedad 2-1.

Mikel Oyarzabal gave La Real an early lead, but Getafe turned the game on its head in the last 12 minutes, Angel Rodriguez bagging his fourth goal of the season to draw the two sides level, before Jorge Molina converted from the spot.

A comeback was also on the cards at Ipurua, where Eibar overturned a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Levante.

In-form pair Jose Luis Morales and Enis Bardhi each scored in a two-minute spell not long before half-time, but Anaitz Arbilla pulled one back shortly after the restart and Charles found another to prolong both sides’ wait for a victory.

However, the best was saved for last as Malaga ended their even-longer wait for a win, defeating Celta Vigo 2-1.

Adrian Gonzalez – son of Malaga boss Michel – put the Andalusians ahead right at the end of the first half, but Iago Aspas appeared to have rescued a point for Celta.

Nonetheless, drama at the death saw the hosts awarded a penalty – and Jose Recio bury it to lift his side off the bottom.
