Atleti to train at Vicente Calderon

Atletico Madrid’s squad will return to their old Vicente Calderon for the first time next week to train ahead of their clash with Qarabag.

Los Rojiblancos have not returned to the stadium since playing their final league match there in May but will make a one-off visit on Monday ahead of their crucial Champions League clash, say reports in Spain.

The Azerbaijani outfit are due to train at the Wanda Metropolitano while Diego Simeone and a designated player will hold a press conference at the new stadium at the time of training.

However, the rest of the squad will make use of the old ground, which has not yet been altered since it stopped hosting matches.

Marca points out the club’s official store at the ground is still fully operational and no date has yet been given for its dismantling, while the club’s Femenino side have trained on the pitch.
