Arsenal are set to complete a move for former Barcelona director of football Raul Sanllehi to replace Richard Law, according to reports.
Sanllehi has enjoyed an influential role in the Blaugrana’s transfers since 2008 – and was reportedly influential in Neymar’s arrival in 2013 – but is set to leave after a chaotic summer transfer window.
Diario Sport report he has now reached a verbal agreement with the Gunners despite strong interest from Manchester City.
It was thought City were favourites for his signature due to the boardroom presence of Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain but Sanllehi, who is known for his links to South American football, is also close to Arsenal’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis.
