Danilo ‘misses’ Real Madrid

Manchester City full-back Danilo has admitted he ‘misses Real Madrid’ following his summer move as they always treated him well.

The 26-year-old joined the English side in a deal thought to be worth in the region of €35m after he spent two seasons at the Bernabeu, where he won two European Cups.

“The truth is that I miss Real Madrid,” Danilo told El Larguero on Tuesday night.

“I enjoyed two incredible years at the club, winning important trophies and they always treated me really well, but you have to move on.

“Zidane and Guardiola? The’re both great Coaches. I had an excellent relationship with Zidane for two years and now I’m enjoying that with Guardiola.

“Gabriel Jesus is Brazilian but I didn’t know him before, he has surprised me with his quality and maturity and it is surprising he is only being 20 years old.

“Messi? We have a really good squad, but you can improve everything… he is a genius. Of course I would like to play with him, he’s one of the best.”

The Brazilian has made 11 appearances for City this season, but has started only three of nine league games.
