Valverde coy on January moves

Ernesto Valverde is remaining tight-lipped on any potential incomings to the club in January and he would rather focus on Barcelona B players.

The club have been linked with a return for Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho this summer and sporting director Robert Fernandez travelled to London on Sunday, taking in the Brazilian’s performance against Tottenham Hotspur.

"If there is interest in signing any player in January who's not here at the moment, I wouldn't like it to be broadcast all over the world," Valverde is quoted as saying by ESPN.

“I'm more interested in (Carles) Alena, (Jose) Arnaiz and (Oriol) Busquets than other players at other teams.”

It is believed the Blaugrana are in a position to spend heavily after the summer window did not see them fully utilise the €222m they received for Neymar’s transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
