Preview: Madrid-Eibar

Injuries threaten to take centre stage when Real Madrid welcome Eibar to the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.

The pressure is on Madrid to bounce back from their draw against Tottenham Hotspur with not only a victory over Eibar but also a convincing performance to boot.

However, Gareth Bale and Dani Carvajal are no nearer to returning from their respective problems, while Keylor Navas is suffering from a thigh strain.

Two changes should also see Nacho Fernandez and Theo Hernandez come into Los Blancos’ defence, but Karim Benzema is expected to stay up top, despite his barren run in front of goal.

Eibar, for their part, are enduring a similar crisis on the fitness front, with key quartet of midfielder Fran Rico, winger Pedro Leon, defender Ivan Ramis and goalkeeper Yoel Rodriguez all ruled out.

Furthermore, the Basques have yet to beat Madrid in La Liga, losing five of their six meetings, although they did pick up a 1-1 draw the last time they played at the Bernabeu.
