Former Tottenham Hotspur winger David Ginola said ‘Spurs sent a message to the world of football’ with their display at the Bernabeu.
The Londoners claimed a well-deserved point in the Champions League clash at Real Madrid and the Frenchman told Talksport’s Wednesday Sports Breakfast that people should sit up and take notice.
“It’s not really the result itself but the message that they send to the world of football,” said the iconic former footballer.
“Spurs have been playing some great football but they have not shown they were capable of taking European football by storm – last night, they did.
“The performance was great, they set up great and tactically they were brilliant. They were not stressed out and played like a very mature team, even with young players.
“Spurs are heading in the right direction,” he asserted.
