Nolito ‘dreaming’ of World Cup

Nolito assures “my best is yet to come” after a slow start at Sevilla and is ‘dreaming’ of a place in Spain’s World Cup team.

Nolito has scored just once in eight appearances for Sevilla since joining from Manchester City over the summer and has not been called up to a Spain squad in 2017, but the attacker believes he will find his feet sooner rather than later.

“I feel better with each training session,” he said at a Press conference for Tuesday’s Champions League game against Spartak Moscow.

“We must try to be in top form for when the Coach sees fit [to pick us]. My best is yet to come and I hope I can help the team.

“My intention is to have a good season so I can possibly be with the national team next summer.

“I hope that’ll be the case, although it’ll be difficult and complicated. Dreaming is free and I have to do well to see if I’m lucky enough to return to the national team.

“I trust my teammates and the forwards we have, and I don’t have even the slightest doubt that we won’t score lots of goals throughout the season.

“We hope to start [scoring] tomorrow, although it’ll be a very complicated game.”
