Viera unclear on Las Palmas future

Las Palmas forward Jonathan Viera is ‘very happy’ at the club but admits talks have stalled over a renewal to his current contract.

The 27-year-old returned to Los Amarillos from Standard Liege on a permanent deal in 2015 but his current contract in Gran Canaria expires in June 2018.

“I have been here for many years and I am very happy,” Viera told Marca.

“The talk of any contract renewal has been quiet but me and the club will come to a decision on what is the best course of action for me.

“I am not Iniesta and we will do things in the manner they have always been done.

“We must end our losing streak against Celta Vigo on Monday night.

“Everybody is training well here and our full focus is on winning Monday night’s match – it will be very open between two teams who keep a lot of possession and like to retain the ball.
