Marcelino: Valencia title bid ‘impossible’

It is ‘impossible’ for Valencia to compete with Real Madrid and Barcelona for the league title this season, according to Coach Marcelino.

Los Che moved into second spot in the league with a remarkable 6-3 win at Real Betis to maintain their unbeaten start, which has included games against both Madrid and Atletico.

“It is impossible to fight with Barca and Madrid for the title,” Marcelino told Cadena Cope after the match.

In his post-match press conference, the Valencia Coach had said: “We will continue on this path, which is not easy, to remain undefeated after eight matches.

“We will always have humility and go step-by-step, with enthusiasm, ability and ambition, we will remain optimistic.

“Generally the feeling is very good – we beat a very good team who play good football with good results and who were undefeated at home.

“We were fantastic in the first half, creating lots of chances and controlling the game but we cannot switch off in that matter – it is a lesson, to play until the referee ends the match.”
