Saints linked to Alcacer

Out-of-favour Barcelona forward Paco Alcacer is a target for English Premier League club Southampton, according to reports.

The24-year-old has not played a minute this season since appearing as a substitute against Alaves in match day two despite Ousmane Dembele’s absence through injury.

Signed from Valencia last summer, scored only eight goals in a tough debut campaign at the Camp Nou and El Mundo Deportivo has cited a report in the Daily Mail linking the Saints to him.

A transfer is said to be proposed in the January transfer window, with reports across Spain stating the Catalan giants are keen for a sale.

Mauricio Pellegrino is familiar with the striker having coached at Alaves last season and his side have a goalscoring problem – failing to find the net in nine of their previous ten home matches.

Alcacer netted 30 goals in 93 appearances for Los Che, where he began his career and has netted 12 goals in 28 international caps.
