Alexandre Lacazette will attempt to convince his friend and international teammate Antoine Griezmann to sign for Arsenal next summer.
The Atletico Madrid forward is said to have convinced the former Lyon player to join Diego Simeone’s side this summer but that move fell through due to the reinforcement of Atleti’s transfer ban this summer.
Lacazette then signed for Premier League club Arsenal instead while the domino effect also ensured that Griezmann’s proposed move to Manchester United did not go through.
“Our nicknames for each other are Griezi and Lacaz,” the striker told an interview with the Match of the Day magazine.
“If Griezi visits me in London, I'm going to ask him to sign for Arsenal!”
The Atleti’s forward release clause rose to €200m during this summer but has since reverted back to €100m.
