Chelsea hopeful on Morata return

The timescale of Alvaro Morata’s return from a hamstring injury is still unclear and Chelsea will wait on the results of further tests.

The 24-year-old limped out of Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat against Manchester City on Saturday and withdrew from the Spanish national team squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Israel.

Despite initial reports of the striker missing between four and eight weeks, ESPN report the English champions will carry out further tests and are hopeful of a swift return for the summer signing.

“I have no time to lose! Working hard towards recovery! Crystal Palace,” Morata posted on Instagram.

The striker has made a fast start to life at Stamford Bridge, netting eight goals in nine appearances for Antonio Conte’s side.
