Sergio Busquets is unsure of Gerard Pique’s future in the Spain international squad and describes it as the ‘most difficult spell’ he has had.
The Barcelona midfielder clarified he wished to play for the nation ‘for many more years’ but he was unsure what the future held for his club teammate.
“I think it will be difficult to sort out the Pique situation,” Busquets told Cadena Cope on Tuesday evening.
“This is my most difficult spell with the national team...there has been no particular meeting to deal with the Pique situation. I do not know if Ramos and Pique have spoken but it is not a usual situation.
“As for Pique he seems the same as ever.
“Ramos is important in every way. In a sporting sense, as a captain he is an example and he is always there for when you need him.
“My own future? I think that I will continue to play for many more years with the national team.”
