Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury, the club have confirmed.
The 21-year-old has not trained with his teammates due to the ‘niggling muscular injury’, according to the club, and underwent further tests on Friday.
Atleti have now confirmed he has a grade one hamstring injury and will sit out the weekend game at Leganes, with Sime Vrsaljko tipped to fill in at left-back.
Lucas has played all six of Diego Simeone’s side’s La Liga fixtures to date and was felled in the penalty area by David Luiz for Antoine Griezmann’s goal against Chelsea on Wednesday.
