Barca-Las Palmas will go ahead

Barcelona’s home clash with Las Palmas on Saturday afternoon will go ahead as scheduled despite doubts due to the Catalan referendum, say reports.

The region is holding a contentious referendum on independence from Spain on Sunday with doubts raised that the police numbers involved would mean the Blaugrana’s clash the previous day may need to be postponed.

However, El Mundo Deportivo report Mossos d'Esquadra – the police force of Catalonia – have confirmed to them that no rescheduling would need to take place.

Barca have won eight matches in a row in all competitions including all six La Liga matches and will take on 15th-placed Las Palmas, with Pako Ayestaran taking charge of his first match for the visitors.
