Saul Niguez believes the arrival of Diego Costa at Atletico Madrid will put all the club’s forwards ‘on alert’, including Antoine Griezmann.
The Spain international striker’s move from Chelsea was confirmed on Tuesday and Saul believes the competition for attacking places at Los Rojiblancos is now hotter than ever.
“The return of Costa is good news for everyone,” Saul told Deportes Cuatro TV.
“All the forwards will now be put on alert as a major signing has arrived, and that includes Griezmann.
“My own future? I signed until 2026 because I mean it, I’m still continuing to improve here and that’s all I can think about.
“I want to give my all into improving alongside this club, who continue to grow.
“It’s like a family here…my parents, brothers, friends, a partner who gives me a lot of stability, right now I have everything I could want.”
