Mario Gotze is confident Borussia Dortmund can maintain their unbeaten home record against Real Madrid on Tuesday night.
The two clubs have clashed on six occasions at the Westfalenstadion with the hosts winning three alongside three draws, including last season’s 2-2 match in the group stages.
“We have had some great games against Real Madrid both at home and away,” Gotze told a press conference.
“Madrid have been excellent for the past two seasons but it’s a new campaign and we are also confident because we have enjoyed some really good results.
“Stats won’t help us during the match but we know we are strong at home and want to protect those records.”
