Preview: Las Palmas-Leganes

A depleted Las Palmas host Leganes on Sunday, in a clash between one of La Liga’s leakiest defences and its second-lowest scorers.

Las Palmas boss Manolo Marquez on his side’s injury problems: “We have 20 players available.

“We practically have the same players that we had at Sevilla, but we’ll wait another 24 hours.

“Remy has trained, but muscle injuries can be misleading. I can’t give any assurances as to whether or not he’ll play.

“We have to be careful. Bigas has also trained. His [problem] was an issue of bruising and he completed training for the first time [on Saturday].

“The teams we named for Sevilla and Athletic won’t play. There will be rotations.

“With a few exceptions, there’s not much difference between the performance levels of our players.

Leganes boss Asier Garitano: “We have El Zhar back. He trained [on Friday], although he comes into the game on the back of becoming a father and a minor injury.

“Omar Ramos and Ezequiel [Munoz] are out. Against Las Palmas, a five-man defence is an option that we’re considering.

“We did well when we used it to control matches and forwards in the box. I’m not worried about our lack of goals because we’re getting chances. We have to keep going as we are.”
