Borja Mayoral vows “I’ll work harder to get more opportunities” in Real Madrid’s first team after his match-winning display at Real Sociedad.

Mayoral capitalised on the absences of Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo to score and assist in a 3-1 victory over Real Sociedad, and the starlet insisted Madrid had “enough forwards”, himself included.

“We had a great game, we did well. We had to win after two draws,” he said after the game.

“Starter? I only found out today when we had a team-talk. I work all week to get these opportunities and I’ll work harder to get more of them. For me, it’s a treasure to be here.

“No 9? We have enough forwards and I’m very happy to be here, it’s a source of pride.

“The No 9 debate is more of the Press’ doing. I dedicate myself to working. My teammates congratulated me and I’m very happy.”
