Kovacic sidelined until November

Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic could be sidelined until November after sustaining partial adductor tear against Apoel Nicosia.

The Croatian midfielder is set to be out of action for six weeks, according to Diario AS, after being replaced in the 25th minute of Wednesday night’s 3-0 victory at the Bernabeu.

The former Inter midfielder could miss up to 10 matches for his club, including the next three Champions League matches, alongside his nation’s clashes with Finland and Ukraine.

“Following the tests carried out on Mateo Kovacic, the player has been diagnosed with a partial tear of the adductor muscle tendon in his right leg,” read a Madrid statement.

Kovacic has made 77 appearances for Los Blancos since joining the club from Inter in 2015.
