Spain remain 11th in FIFA rankings

Spain are unchanged at 11th in the FIFA World Rankings despite September victories over Italy and Liechtenstein.

Julen Lopetegui’s side blew Italy away 3-0 at the Bernabeu before thrashing Liechtenstein 8-0 three days later, leaving them on the brink of qualifying for the World Cup.

Cape Verde Islands were the best movers in the rankings, climbing 47 places to 67th, while Guatemala fell 31 places to 131st.

Germany have leapfrogged Brazil to return to the top of the table, while there were national record highs for Peru (12th), Northern Ireland (20th) and Syria (75th).

 Gibraltar, Somalia, Tonga, Eritrea, the Bahamas, and Anguilla jointly prop up the table on 0 points.
