Andres Iniesta will not be leaving Barcelona next summer despite being out of contract according to the Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta.
The 33-year-old’s Camp Nou deal expires in June 2018 and he has been linked with a move to the Italian champions next summer, although cold water appears to have been poured on those rumours.
“He’s a great champion, but he has a contract with Barcelona, which he’ll surely extend,” Marotta told La Sexta.
“He’s on the best of terms with his club’s board and he’s a very important player for them, so I think he’ll stay at Barcelona.”
The Old Lady fell to a 3-0 defeat to a Lionel Messi-inspired Barca in Tuesday night’s Champions League opener.
