Leipzig ‘totally relaxed’ over Werner

RB Leipzig are ‘totally relaxed’ over the future of striker Timo Werner despite media reports linking him with a future move to Real Madrid.

Diario AS reported on Tuesday that the German international striker – who has seven goals in six appearances this season – was being tracked by Madrid officials.

However, the Bundesliga club’s general manager Oliver Mintzlaff believed his side’s participation in the Champions League and rise to prominence ensures there is nothing for the club to worry about.

“We play in the Champions League,” Mintzlaff is quoted by Kicker as telling Sky.

“We offer Timo the chance to make the next step. We are totally relaxed.”

Werner has netted six goals in eight international appearances since making his Germany debut earlier this year.
