Liverpool have denied claims that Barcelona were asked to pay €200m for Philippe Coutinho.
The suggestion was made by Barca director Albert Soler at a Press conference on Saturday, but it was quickly shot down by an unnamed Liverpool source.
“There was never a possibility that Coutinho could go to Barcelona. [The claim is] totally false,” they were quoted as saying by Sport.
The Catalans ultimately made just four signings over the summer in Gerard Deulofeu, Paulinho, Nelson Semedo and Ousmane Dembele.
